Football & Music Event July 2016!

In conjunction with Saints 4 Sport (Southampton Football club) we have started a football project in Hampshire across each of our nine hubs. Saints Foundation are providing our staff and service users with coaching courses so we can empower people to develop their football skills. Service users from Inclusion Recovery Hampshire (IRH) and partner agencies are teaming up with local leisure facility providers to take part in free sessions leading to a football tournament in Southampton in Summer 2016.

There will be a trophy ceremony afterwards and service users from each hub have the opportunity to showcase their talents in performing arts to provide entertainment for the event.

As well as the football element of the day there will also be opportunities for service users to take part in catering food for the event as well as general co-ordination, such as preparing posters for local events relating to the tournament.

We have received funding to purchase materials for each element of the event including football equipment and musical instruments.

Practice makes perfect: A jamming session at Inclusion Recovery Basingstoke!

The purpose of the event is for service users to develop their individual skills and abilities in line with their own hobbies and interests so that they are able to add diverse activities to their individual recovery plans as positive activities can be an essential element in a treatment journey. Getting involved with local partners also helps individuals to develop their positive support network outside of the support services in order to maximise their ‘Recovery Capital’ to ensure that they build these networks from the outset of their treatment journey so that they have support, activities, hobbies and interests ready for when the time is right for them to leave treatment services. We also have a fantastic opportunities available in terms of getting more involved in the service as a Recovery Supporter through our Volunteering programme, for those who would like to contribute to the treatment journey of others.
